BuildGreen 2009
Posted by on September 14, 2009
As you know, green buildings are a huge part of the solution to many sustainability issues from land use planning, resource conservation, energy efficiency, and climate change, and they also have a significant impact on our region’s economic growth and stability.
We’ve redoubled our efforts this fall to offer more education and advocacy initiatives to carry out our mission, and we want to make sure that as leaders in the region we don’t miss an opportunity to invite you to two major events.

October 14-15: Two Day Conference
DVGBC is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting BuildGreen 2009, scheduled for October 14-15 in Philadelphia. BuildGreen 2009 is the first conference in the region that will convene all green building stakeholders in the design/build, policy, manufacturing, and economic development/investment community. The conference will balance networking opportunities, education, and recognition of local leadership. In additional to nationally-known scientists and policy experts, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has just confirmed participation, as has Director of Sustainability Katherine Gajewski, further demonstrating a local commitment to securing the region’s position as a national leader in the rapidly emerging green building marketplace.

October 15: Evening Event
Every year, DVGBC hosts the region’s premier green building networking event; last year we had over 700 attendees. Philadelphia’s Director of Sustainability, Katherine Gajewski, will be presenting this year’s Leadership Awards, and we’re holding it at the Penn Museum of Archeology and Anthropology on the evening of October 15th. The 7th annual celebration is promised to be our best event to date.
