Please join BuildaBridge for a 2-part course in Arts in Healing & a 3-part skills workshop in Conscious Drumming from August 22-24, 2019.

About Arts & Healing: This course explores the role the arts play in holistic healing (mind, body, spirit) while focusing on the specific nature of the arts in healing trauma and the role the arts have in fostering hope and resilience in individuals and communities in crisis. The course includes an overview of music therapy, art therapy, and dance/movement therapy techniques to respond to traumatic stress and an understanding of the ever-increasing body of knowledge of neurobiology of trauma and the arts. The course will be interactive and participatory with a final culminating arts in healing project. All participants will receive a certificate in Arts in Healing. About Conscious Drumming: Drumming, historically a community-based ceremonial experience, is currently engaged for a variety of reasons outside of pure ritual. “Conscious Drumming: Drumming from the Heart” provides a structured experience where participants experience rhythm, community, creativity, and more. Additionally, each participant will have an opportunity to speak to their core values, beliefs, and ideals in a safe and supportive setting. There is no need to be an experienced drummer or even to have a musical background. “Conscious Drumming” provides an opportunity to awaken that inner musician in an inviting and meaningful manner.
