BuildaBridge Institute is a training and applied research academy designed to prepare practitioners to integrate the arts effectively in education and community development. Now in its tenth edition the Institute is an intensive 5 day experience that provides opportunities for professional growth by teaching arts based tools for healing and empowerment, and efficient ways to implement them to better serve those in need.

Who can attend: artists, teachers, social service professionals, youth workers, community and congregational leaders, non profit personnel.

The training offers three simultaneous track courses where participants learn foundational theory, arts education, community arts management, emergency arts relief, applied arts methods and art skills:

Track 1 Courses

* Foundations for Arts in Transformation
* Arts, Creativity and Human Development
* Arts in Education
* Arts and Spiritual Development
* Skills Development Workshops*
* Methods Lab Practicum**

Track 2 Courses

* Arts in Social Services
* Arts in Healing
* Leadership Practicum
* Skills Development Workshops*
* Methods Lab Practicum**

Track 3 Courses

* Emergency Arts Relief
* CPR and First Aid
* Cross Cultural Skills for Community and Overseas Service

* The Skills Development Workshops offer opportunities to learn art skills in  different art mediums such as transformational drama, drumming, dance, visual arts, and cross-cultural skills for community and overseas service.

** The Methods Labs are unique sessions where participants can observe and assist a lead teacher in a direct arts service program with youth in a local homeless shelter.

Registration

* Registration for Track 1 or Track 2 is $550. An additional $255 covers 4 nights of room and board at Bryn Mawr College. Institute commuters can pay $115 for all meals.

* A single day rate of $175 includes registration and 2 meals. To see single day course offerings, check the Institute schedule.

* Registration for Track 3 courses is $250, with room and board at $160 or commuter meals at $80.

* Since 2007 the Institute is partnering with Eastern University’s School for Social Change to offer a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies, Arts in Transformation Concentration.
