The BUILD Department directly improves the living conditions of low-income families by creating safe, healthy, affordable dwellings through the construction of new multi- and single-unit new housing, whole house rehab projects, and owner-occupied home repair work. The Project Manager-New Construction is responsible for managing all aspects of construction on new construction and gut-rehab build sites, including maintaining project schedules, managing sub-contracted work, overseeing the work of HFHP site teams, directing on-site safety programs, purchasing materials, coordinating volunteer engagement, and representing Habitat to the local community.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of all phases of ground-up residential home construction; strong logistical and scheduling skills; and the demonstrated leadership skills required to maintain and positive and safe work site.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of construction on assigned HFHP BUILD sites, oversee site safety and security, keep daily progress logs, serve as a liaison between site team and other members of HFHP staff
- Maintain detailed construction schedules in coordination with HFHP site teams, and BUILD team leadership; make weekly updates to M.S. Project schedule
- Manage on-site sub-contracted work: scheduling, site coordination, quality control, design team communication (RFIs, submittals), change order requests
- Oversee the work of HFHP site teams: material procurement, labor allocations, expense tracking, volunteer engagement, design compliance, quality control
- Direct on-site safety programs, ensuring that the worksite and all workers on site always meet regulatory safety requirements; maintain documentation for project compliance: e.g. OHSA, EPA, L&I, etc.
- Represent HFHP in a positive manner and maintain collaborative relationships with all staff, homeowners, sub-contractors, vendors, and others
