PennFuture to Host Brownfields Redevelopment Workshop
With Philadelphia undergoing a major development renaissance, many neighborhoods are finding their brownfields being redeveloped for new use. While proper redevelopment can help revitalize communities, improper handling of these sites can pose a danger to the health and well being of the neighborhood.
On April 25, PennFuture will host a Brownfields Redevelopment Workshop aimed at local residents who want to learn more about brownfields redevelopment and opportunities for public involvement. Guest speaker George Jugovic, chair of PennFuture’s Law Department, will outline the legal process and ways residents can ensure a smart, environmentally conscious plan.
The workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. at in the basement of St. Michael’s Church, 4th and Fairmount streets, Philadelphia.
