Breakfast with the Stars: Women in Leadership
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9, 2016
9:00 AM — 11:00 AM
It’s 2016 and the headline still hasn’t changed: female nonprofit executives earn less than their male counterparts. Plus, the larger a nonprofit gets, the fewer female executives it has: 55% of small nonprofits have female leaders, whereas only 18% of the largest nonprofits do.
Women are also underrepresented when it comes to having seats on nonprofit boards. Overall, women comprise 43% of the membership of nonprofit boards, however, that drops to just 33% when considering boards of nonprofits with incomes of $25M+.
Clearly, something needs to change. During this robust panel presentation moderated by Lansie Sylvia, HMC’s Director of Engagement, we’ll explore the complexities of women’s leadership and discuss proven leadership principles and practices by female executives at the top of their game. Panelists include:
- Valerie V. Gay, CFP, Executive Director of Art Sanctuary
- Melissa Greenberg, VP of Development for the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation
- Tiffany Tavarez, Corporate Contributions Manager at PECO
- And one more panelist TBD!
The event is proudly hosted by the Regional Foundation Center at the Free Library of Philadelphia. We will be in the Skyline Room, located on the 4th Floor.
The panel will begin promptly at 9:30 am and conclude at 10:30 am. Come early at 9 am or stay late until 11 am for mingling and networking!
