Book Release: Community-Based Research in Higher Education
Posted by on May 16, 2003
Please join the CoRAL Network on Friday May 30, 2003 from 3-6pm at the Suber Room at the Jesuit Residence at Georgetown University as the authors of Community-Based Research in Higher Education: Principles and Practices will celebrate the release of their book.
Kerry Strand, Nick Cutforth, Pat Donahue, Randy Stoecker, and the CoRAL Network’s director Sam Marullo will join friends and colleagues to talk about their publication. Written by five university professors from across the country, they collectively have over 50 years of experience in community-based research. Documenting their experiences and dialogues about the practice, the book illuminates the practice of community-based research in higher education. It includes commentary on the definitions of community-based research, the mechanisms for and need for community collaborations, and the power of the work in catalyzing institutional change among American colleges and universities.
With readings from community partners, university faculty and students, as well as a host of other speakers, the event is sure to be a great time. Refreshments will be included.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to coralnetwork@georgetown.edu or 202-687-4413 by May 23rd.
