Book launch discusses the “building of modern Philadelphia”
The University of Pennsylvania Press has published Ed Bacon: Planning, Politics, and the Building of Modern Philadelphia, by Greg Heller. The book reviews the work of renowned city planner Edward Bacon and the planning and implementation of dozens of redesigned urban spaces in Philadelphia, including the restored colonial neighborhood of Society Hill, the new office development of Penn Center, and the transit-oriented shopping center of Market East.
A book launch event has been scheduled for Thursday, May 16th from 6-7:30pm at the Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street in Philadelphia. The event is free. RSVP here.
