Book event focuses on revitalizing neighborhood schools
The authors of How to Walk to School: Blueprint for a Neighborhood School Renaissance, will participate in a presentation at the annual conference of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children on Saturday, May 7th from 8:30-1-:30am at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 12th and Arch Streets in Philadelphia.
Jacqueline Edelberg and Susan Kurlan have written an inspirational story on how they engaged parents and took risks to help transform one of Chicago’s worst schools into a winning community hub with a farmer’s market, community events, viable after-school activities and effective community partnerships.
