Save September 25, 2019, for the first “Black Men Read” Book Club meet up for this season.
When: Wednesday, Sep. 25th, 5:30-7pm
Where: 5325 Overbrook Avenue, Philadelphia, PA
This event is open to the general public. Preregistration is encouraged.
The founders and organizers Boys Write Now and Girls On Fire (Peggy Savage) are proud to continue our “Black Men Read” Book Group. This book group targets black men for the purpose of highlighting and modeling the love of reading by black men.
The group expects to attract 15 participants but will limit the group to 25 attendees. We plan to attract teen and diverse a range of readers to ensure intergenerational discourse and lively conversations.
Book to read: Freakonomics, A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. The authors reveal how Conventional wisdom can often be wrong.
