Black + Gold: Building Mutual Understanding and Love across Race is a series hosted by Asian and Black Community members.
Yuri Kochiyama was a Japanese American political and civil rights activist. For fifty years, Kochiyama spoke out about oppressive institutions and injustice in the United States. Her activism supported the liberation and empowerment of African Americans, Asian Americans, and Puerto Ricans.
Listen to a podcast with her granddaughter Akemi Kochiyama as she talks about Yuri’s legacy and how we continue to strive for social justice.
