Youth United for Change – Bilingual Youth Organizer
Youth United for Change is seeking a Bilingual Youth Organizer to establish and maintain YUC chapters in two high schools. Responsibilities include recruiting students, developing and implementing trainings and retreats; guiding youth in picking issues, developing and carrying out issue campaigns, devising organizing strategies; preparing and implementing public actions; and getting media coverage for events.
Candidates must be bilingual; have a Bachelors Degree in related field or at least three years experience in youth/community organizing; have excellent written and verbal communications skills; be detailed oriented with good research skills; and have the ability to work under pressure.
The ideal candidate will also be able to work with school administrators and teachers; have experience working with inner city youth; and be able to facilitate and design interactive workshops. S/he should be knowledgeable about social media and have experience working with office technology. Knowledge in Graphic/Web design and related technologies and programs is a plus.
