Position:           Bilingual Group Leader
Site:                 Southwark Elementary School
Hours:               15-17 hours per week

Summary: The Group Leader works under the direction of the Site Director to ensure the implementation of program goals throughout the program year, and for all children enrolled in the out-of-school time program.

Duties:
Responsible for the implementation of weekly lesson plans for assigned groups to ensure that activities are geared toward grade level assigned to the Group

Responsible for daily pick-up and escort of children from neighborhood schools

Assist with daily homework assignments and provide individual tutoring as needed

Provide lessons on social skills activities to enhance awareness and appreciation of cultural heritage, in particular the Latino culture

Chaperoning participants on all scheduled trips and activities

Track attendance for all participants assigned to the group

Responsible for the coordination of creative projects-based learning enrichment activities with other lead staff

Qualifications:
Minimum of one year experience working with at-risk children ages 5 through 10 years in an educational environment

High School Diploma (some college preferred)

Able to work half days and/or whole days to ensure staff to scholar ratio is consistent

Able to provide lessons that focus on self-protection skills, teaching scholars to avoid dangerous situations without conflict

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in intervention/conflict resolution

Able to pass Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI background clearances

Must be Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) with fluency in both languages
