100 Big Brothers needed for boys

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania has launched the 100 Men in 100 Days campaign, through which it aims to recruit 100 men (or more) to become Big Brothers between August 1 and November 8.   To achieve this goal of giving 100 more boys a better chance at a better future, Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking to partner with organizations and businesses.

This new campaign will address the current shortage of minority male volunteers signing up to work with boys who have registered with BBBS.. More than 80 percent of the children currently waiting for mentors through Big Brothers Big Sisters are boys, but only three out of 10 interested volunteers are male. The 100 Men in 100 Days campaign is working to alleviate this disparity.

If your organization is interested in helping to improve the lives of boys, email Uva Coles (ucoles@bbbssepa.org), Vice President, Intake Services, or call her at 215.701.8100.  Big Brothers Big Sisters will schedule a time to meet with your staff, supporters and volunteers to explain what it means to be a Big Brother.
