Bias in STEM: Documentary Viewing and Panel Discussion – Feb 10

You are invited to a showing of the documentary, Picture a Scientist, followed with a brief panel of STEM faculty, alumni, and students on more inclusive strategies for women of all races and ethnicities in science. In honor of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, it is hoped that this event will bring together persons of all genders from both within and outside of Villanova University, to ultimately effect greater innovation and discovery across the sciences.

About the film: Picture a Scientist, an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. From cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, the film follows the stories of both White and BIPOC women and their male counterparts who are striving to make science more equitable and accessible to all.
