Bi-Lingual Community Engagement & Family Program Assistant (Part Time)
Posted by Barnes Foundation on April 20, 2021
The Community Engagement & Family Program Assistant is a 20hr/week part-time position, working during the Monday-Friday work week, with evening and weekend community events typically 1-2 times per month. This position supports the development and facilitation of learning opportunities, deep engagement, and expanded access to learning experiences at the Barnes Foundation for diverse multi-generational audiences—primarily serving Philadelphia communities and populations that are under-represented and underserved. Under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement & Family Programs, the Assistant is part of a CEF team that generates meaningful interactions through informal workshops and classes; community-based events; family skills building; and Barnes gallery visits. Our goal is to make the Barnes resources and collection relevant and personally meaningful. This position helps to implement programming off-site within Philadelphia communities (primarily West Philadelphia and South Philadelphia), on-site at the Barnes on the Parkway, and in virtual format. Qualified candidates should be able to deliver art-making lessons and art gallery tours in English and Spanish, once given training about the art collection.
