Beyond GI Joe: The Contemporary College Student Veteran

With the influx of veterans into higher education and the community at large, it is important for professionals to have an understanding of the military community and culture. This seminar will offer an intensive and interactive professional development experience to enhance the attendee’s understanding of today’s veteran and strengthen their ability to better serve this growing population. Relevant across various professions, this seminar is especially pertinent to higher education professionals and mental health professionals.

• Disability Services: Accommodating Student Veterans
Beyond GI Joe presented at various universities and national conferences was developed by Lauren Williams, Marywood University Director of Military and Veteran Services.
This program is a partnership between the Marwood Univeristy Office of Military and Veteran Services
and The School of Social Work and Administrative Studies
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 11393 (entire program); 11394 (5/3 only); 11395 (5/4 only)
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: General Attendees: $100 for 2 days or $75 per day; The Soldiers Project Attendees: $75 for 2 days or $50 per day
* Please call for group discount of three or more from the same organization.
Full registration fee includes breakfast and lunch each day with a networking dinner on 5/3.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS:
EDUCATORS – This entire program is approved for ten (10) professional development ACT 48 hours.
SOCIAL WORKERS – This program is approved for ten (10) continuing education hours for social workers, applicable toward
PA/NJ-LSW licensure renewal. This program has been approved for Social Work CEUs for New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
