Beyond Coding: Meeting the Challenge of Digital Literacy – Dec 3
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on November 17, 2020
Technology is now at the center of many of our lives – just look at the doctor providing telemedicine visits, the workplace holding staff meetings over Zoom, and the generation of students who are now learning how to learn online. That same generation of students will soon be entering a professional world demanding computer literacy and creativity, but are they prepared?
In December’s Education Compact Session we will be exploring innovative ways that organizations and educators are driving change with programs that go beyond coding and imagine a differently networked world. From businesses advocating for internet access for every student regardless of income, to professors addressing systemic and social barriers faced by those from underrepresented groups in the field of computing, we’ll consider what the future holds for our students, and how we can best prepare them.
Join us on December 3, 2020, 9:00-10:15 AM, as we collectively envision a bright technological future for Philadelphia’s young people.
