Women Against Abuse, Inc (WAA) is currently recruiting for a Behavioral Health Program Supervisor

WAA is the leading and largest provider of services to victims of domestic violence in both the City of Philadelphia  and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The mission of WAA is to provide is quality, compassionate and  nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate  partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education.

With a little under 100 staff, WAA serves more than 15,000 individuals each year through emergency housing
(100 bed shelter and 12 transitional housing apartments), legal services, hotline counseling, education/training  and advocacy. We recently were awarded a contract from the Philadelphia Office of Supportive Housing to  provide additional supportive services to victims including the operation of a new 100 bed Domestic Violence Safe  Haven.

Behavioral Health Program Supervisor
Summary of Principle Duties: The Behavioral Health (BH) Program Supervisor will organize services and the
administrative needs of the behavioral health program. They will supervise the Therapists and BH MSW Interns within all the programs (Shelter/Safe Haven 1, Shelter/Safe Haven 2, St. Elizabeth’s Wellness Center, and Sojourner House). Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Providing direct supervision, evaluation and scheduling of the BH team; working with Case Management Supervisors, Hotline & Intake Manager, St. Elizabeth’s Wellness Center Staff, and other residential staff to ensure a coordinated Sanctuary and Trauma informed experience; ensuring all records and reports are complete in accordance with WAA standards; Monitor and coordinate procedures and standards (within regulations) for CBH billing of behavioral health services; and working collaboratively and communicating with other departments to ensure smooth operations. All responsibilities are implemented according to our mission and vision and according to Agency standards.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other social science related field with a
  • minimum of one year of therapy experience.
  • At least two years of therapy experience providing therapeutic services to adults.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Sanctuary Model is a plus.
  • Able to work extended and flex hours when necessary.
  • Experience in a residential setting is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge regarding behavioral health issues and the impact it has on domestic violence survivors is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of trauma is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of addiction, co-dependency, recovery and relapse prevention is preferred.
  • Ability to work with clients dealing with mental health, drug & alcohol and domestic violence issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience using client database is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office software, Outlook, Word, & Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations.
  • Knowledge of CBH billing procedure preferred
  • Completion of the 40-hour DV Training required (post hire). Satisfactory criminal record, FBI and child  abuse clearances and a TB Test required pre hire (all expenses paid by WAA).

Schedule: 40 hours Mon – Fri Salary: commensurate with experience w/full comprehensive benefits
