Behavioral Health Implementation Research Scientist
About PolicyLab:
Established in 2008, PolicyLab is a highly innovative, multidisciplinary center within the Research Institute at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia that works with practitioners, policymakers and communities to make sure care provided for children is informed by the best research. PolicyLab’s faculty and staff are experts in medicine, law, public health, health policy, psychology, biostatistics, social work, health services research, program evaluation, and ethics. The Center’s work focuses on improving public systems, improving health care delivery, and improving child health outcomes and includes research portfolios on behavioral health and implementation science and evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:
PolicyLab is seeking a Behavioral Health Implementation Research Scientist to manage a citywide behavioral health implementation initiative serving children and families involved with child welfare in the City of Philadelphia. The research scientist will work in close collaboration with City child welfare and behavioral health leadership and staff, partners from private provider child welfare and behavioral health agencies, as well as other key City stakeholders. The behavioral health initiative is part of a broader system transformation in Philadelphia that is regionalizing child welfare services to community agencies. The priority of this broader initiative is to identify resources to support children remaining safely in their own homes and communities.
Specific job responsibilities include:
· Manage the execution of a strategic implementation plan for the scale up of evidence-based behavioral health services in Philadelphia, occurring as part of a broader City effort that is regionalizing child welfare services to community agencies.
· Participate in the identification and development of evidence-based behavioral health services and strategies with City partners.
· Consult with the implementing agencies in the rollout, delivery, and evaluation of the behavioral health initiative. Provide on-site consultation and clinical expertise to the implementing agencies. Develop relevant implementation protocols and training materials.
· Serve as a clinical expert on the continuum of behavioral health services to be provided, working closely with the clinical and implementation staff. Provide informational seminars, trainings, and resources to staff on the key interventions and models.
· Develop evaluative research proposals related to the implementation of behavioral health programs for children in community agencies.
· Oversee the initiative’s fidelity and monitoring plan.
· Participate in data analysis and prepare data for publication.
· Convene and participate in meetings with various internal and external stakeholders involved with the implementation of evidence-based behavioral health practices.
Candidates interested in a part-time position will be considered.
Qualifications:
· PhD in psychology, or related interdisciplinary degree (e.g., LCSW) with commensurate research, clinical, and implementation experience
· Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania clinical license
· Experience with implementation science research
· Experience with evidence-based behavioral health service program development and implementation for children and adolescents
· Clinical training and experience in the delivery of evidence-based behavioral health services to children and families
· Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly children and families with child welfare involvement
· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
· Great organizational and time management skills
· Effective problem solving/critical thinking skills
· Highly collaborative
