Beer Summit Conversation on COVID-19 – Jul 30
Posted by Global Citizen on July 21, 2020
Please join Global Citizen on Thursday, July 30 @ 6 pm, along with special guests, Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium leader Dr. Ala Stanford and civil rights lawyer and social justice activist Michael Coard for an important virtual conversation as part of our 12th annual Beer Summit- The Double Pandemic: COVID-19 & Racism. The conversation will be moderated by Temple University professor and longtime community activist Rev. David Brown.
On March 25, 1966, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman.” More than a half-century later, one thing is evident– Black people, particularly those living in poverty and underserved communities, are disproportionately affected from this health crisis. Our July 30, 90-minute discussion is critical at this time of advocacy for racial justice on many fronts.
This annual conversation is limited to one hundred so we can have a more meaningful conversation about the current state of disparities in our healthcare system, racial justice and the movement for black lives, and what action for fundamental change lies ahead.

Global Citizen is dedicated to promoting social justice, breaking down barriers and building sustainable partnerships through citizen action, education, advocacy, dialogue and sustained civic engagement among diverse groups.
