Description of Volunteer Opportunity:
Become a volunteer management consultant and use your business expertise to assist a museum, historical site, musical group or theater. Through the Business Volunteers for the Arts program (BVA), volunteer consulting projects are guaranteed to be varied and rewarding. As a BVA volunteer, some of the region’s most promising business professionals have helped arts and cultural organizations create a sustainable business plan for long-term success, develop public relations strategies and revamp financial management practices to improve efficiencies. BVA volunteering can benefit your career and business by expanding your network, introducing you to people from many different fields and sharpening your consultation and project management expertise.
BVA consultants typically have:
· A minimum of five years of for-profit management experience
· Expertise in one or more of the following fields: marketing, public relations, strategic planning, business planning, accounting/finance, organizational development, human resources or event planning
