Training aims to help bilingual people learn to be interpreters
Nationalities Service Center is sponsoring a three-day, 15-hour training aimed at helping bilingual individuals to learn interpreting skills.
The course will teach participants the best practices in quality interpreting and will allow for time to practice with experienced interpreters.
Participants will learn about simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, the role of the interpreter in health care, business, and other professional settings, and intercultural communication, cultural competence, and how to be a “cultural broker.”
Cost is $250. For more information, go here.
