Working on the pool deck is the hottest summer job in Philly. One of the best-paying teen jobs around, Parks & Rec lifeguards earn up to $18 per hour, with starting pay set at $16 per hour.
New this year, Parks & Rec is offering the first-ever cash bonuses for new and returning lifeguards.A $1000 end-of-season bonus will be available to any City lifeguard who submits their completed employment application by April 15, 2023 and works throughout the 2023 summer season. Candidates who submit a completed application by May 15 will be eligible for a $500 end-of-season bonus.
Parks & Rec is now offering free training for anyone interested in lifeguarding at a City pool this summer.
