MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation invites letters of inquiry

The MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation is a joint initiative between Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association that supports efforts that focus on improving the caliber, effectiveness, and availability of amateur baseball and softball programs across the United States and internationally.

The foundation will accept applications throughout the year for community-based projects encouraging and empowering youth in underserved communities through baseball and softball—on and off the field.

The foundation considers requests for a variety of purposes, including:

Capital Projects: Field lighting, renovations, and construction.

Baseball and Softball Programs: Players and infrastructure equipment, uniforms, coaches training, umpire fees, player registration fees, facility rental fees, and field maintenance.

Education Initiatives: Programs, exhibits, and other learning opportunities that use baseball and softball as their primary focus to promote interest and engagement in the game.

Schools: Up to $5,000 for players and infrastructure equipment.

Letters of inquiry will be considered on a rolling basis. Applicants will receive a status update within 60 days following their submission, and the foundation may request a phone call to review projects/programs if it has additional questions.

For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Major League Baseball Players Association website.

Deadline: September 2, 2023 Rolling (Letters of Inquiry)
