The Bartko Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists single minority mothers in their efforts to achieve economic, educational, social, emotional, and physical well-being.
Women of color may qualify for a $3000 grant.
The Bartko Foundation makes grants to individual women of color who are custodial mothers to help them increase the self-sufficiency of their families through education, housing, employment and transportation. The foundation has funded a variety of supports for minority mothers, such as purchase of a car to help a woman keep or get a job, paying a security deposit or providing a down payment on a house, providing tuition assistance, etc.
The foundation does not fund debt relief of any kind nor expenses that directly relate to the children, such as child care.
