PILCOP plans two workshops on special education law
The Public Interest Law Center will sponsor two special education seminars in October.
The first is the rescheduled Back to School Special Education Boot Camp on October 20th from 8:30am to 3pm and will cover the current state of special education law. It will discuss some of the most pressing matters including: 1) Early Intervention; 2) Dyslexia Research-based Treatments; 3) Discipline; 4) Charter Schools; 5) Dyslexia Awareness and Pa Legislation; and 6) Inclusion.
The second will focus on Health Issues in Schools and will be held on October 21st from 1-4pm. Philadelphia has one of the worst childhood asthma rates in the country, and PILCOP advocates for more nurses in Philadelphia’s schools to aid children suffering from this and other health issues. The workshop will discuss Pennsylvania laws governing nursing services.
