Award for a Girl with Grit
Every year one female Philadelphia high school junior or senior is recognized through the Jill Melmed-Buzzeo Award. This winning student receives $2,000 and a mentor to help her navigate from high school to college. To be considered, students must first be nominated by their principal. Nominees are then directed to complete an application and, if invited, interview with board members before the recipient is announced in May. All principals’ nominations must be received by March 1, 2016. Visit http://JMBAward.com to begin the process.
