June 15 ? Audioconference on Supporting Parents of Young Children

This free audioconference, titled ?A Most Precious Resource: Keys to City Support for Parents of Young Children,? on Thurs., June 15, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) will focus on municipal strategies to promote early care and education for young children by connecting parents to new and existing resources. Speakers will include Mayor Julie Pirnack of Longmont, Colo., and Councilmember Brian Peruta of Enfield, Conn. They will discuss their cities? progress as technical assistance sites under the YEF Institute?s Cities Supporting Parents of Young Children project, including steps they have taken to promote early learning by supporting parents in their communities.
