PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: These 90-minute interactive audio conferences are hosted by Family and Corrections Network, publisher of the Children of Prisoners Library. Presenter Ann Adalist-Estrin, will describe the essential things to know about children of prisoners and their families and the skills you need to develop to work with them.

Children mourn the loss of their incarcerated parents. Some mourn the loss of the parent that was available to care for them. Others mourn the loss of the parent that “could have been.” How can we help children of prisoners deal with the emotional pain of losing a parent to incarceration? What factors place children of prisoners at risk? How can protective factors be strengthened in the life of a child dealing with parental incarceration? What are the choices and challenges facing those who want to help children of prisoners cope more effectively with stress and trauma?

Time will be set aside for an interactive Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Listen in and get the chance to ask your specific questions!

HOW DOES AN AUDIO CONFERENCE WORK? An audio conference is like a large conference call, but in a more controlled program-like environment. Simply dial a pre-assigned toll-free telephone number from your phone, enter a conference ID number/password, and you’re connected. Enjoy the presentation and join in the lively Q&A segment at the end of the presentation.

Remember, your ENTIRE staff/department/group can attend for ONE low registration per listening site. The cost is just $99 for FCN members ($109 for non members) — no matter how many people are in the room. The Conference will run for 90 minutes which includes time after the presentation for a Q&A session.

LOCATION: Your office, conference room or whenever you have access to a touch-tone phone.

COST: $99 (or $109) per site (not the per-person cost). Your registration includes: toll-free access to the 90-minute call for as many people as you can fit in a room with a speakerphone, downloadable presentation handouts made available 24-hours in advance, and live Q&A following the presentation (NOTE: handout material will be made available 24 hours in advance of the audio
conference)
