ATTN Schools: Apply to Host a Community Partnerships VISTA – Feb 7

Posted by PHENND on November 26, 2019

PHENND is pleased to invite traditional public schools in Philadelphia to apply for a Community Partnerships Coordinator VISTA position for a start date of August 2020. The AmeriCorps VISTAs will coordinate and facilitate partnerships between the host school and existing and/or potential outside community partners with the goal of well integrating services into the school’s schedule and meeting major school needs, thereby ensuring that these partnerships are mutually beneficial, sustainable and serving students effectively.

A complete job description of the Community Partner Coordinator position, a list of Frequently Asked Questions, and the link to the application itself can be found here

This will be the 8th year of this program and due to a number of schools graduating out of our program, we are hoping to select 5-6 schools to our roster of hosts. The most successful candidates will clearly articulate in their application how they will use the Community Partnerships Coordinator VISTA position to help them achieve their school improvement objectives.

Finalists may be selected to receive a site visit in the early spring. Final decisions will be determined by the end of March by the review committee, which includes representatives from PHENND’s advisory board, AmeriCorps and the School District.

Note: You can save your responses on the application and return to it as you need to complete it. The deadline is Friday, February 7th.
