Associate Wellness Director or Wellness Director, Puentes de Salud

Puentes de Salud (Bridges of Health) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that promotes the health and wellness of Latinx immigrants in and around Philadelphia through high-quality health care, innovative educational programs, and community building. The foundation of Puentes de Salud rests on the belief that community wellbeing results from a collaborative, multidisciplinary effort that focuses on addressing the conditions in which we grow, learn, live, work and age.

The Health & Wellness Associate Director or Health & Wellness Director manages Puentes de Salud’s Wellness services and programming. These programs include our Medical-Legal Partnership, in which on-site attorneys help families access the legal tools needed to lead stable lives; part of our Promotora program, in which community members serve as health workers, conducting client consults, workshops, and outreach to increase Puentes’ reach and tackle important health issues outside the clinic setting; our Behavioral Health services which provide the community with evidence-based mental health support; our Food Access programs which support community members who are experiencing food insecurity, and our Case Management programs, which help clients manage chronic and emergent social service needs.

This position reports to the Executive Director. Please reference the Associate Director position in your cover letter if you do not have supervisory experience. Candidates who possess supervisory experience should reference the Director position in their cover letter.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement Wellness services and programs in social work, mental and behavioral health, food access, community health workers (Promotoras) and other community-based wellness initiatives.
  • In collaboration with Clinic leadership, Wellness staff, Promotoras, and community members, develop programming structures and procedures that are responsive to community needs and Puentes’ administrative requirements
  • Maintain and analyze qualitative and quantitative service data, and ensure that programs are meeting reporting requirements.
  • Implement, maintain, and update strategic plansfor wellness, as needed.
  • Establish and supervise related staff and volunteer teams, including at least 1.5 FTE and approximately 6 contractors. Review and select staff and volunteers, and manage related volunteer coordinators. Collaboratively manage the Promotora team.
  • Foster and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including community leaders, peer organizations, and funders.
  • Represent Puentes at promotional and public speaking opportunities.
  • Oversee Wellness’ financial sustainability and administrative compliance
  • Manage and administer annual program budgets totaling approximately $700,000.
  • Write, track, and submit grant applications and progress reports.
  • Manage departmental administration, including budget management and compliance
  • Support Organization-Wide Integration
  • Collaborate across service areas to oversee operations of programming, services, and outreach as they relate to Wellness programs.
  • In consultation with the Executive Director and other program Directors, implement strategic collaborative programs with other service areas, to advance Puentes’ mission
  • Collaborate closely with the Puentes executive leadership team to advance the organization’s strategic direction and work as a whole.
