Associate Producer/ Online & Social Media – We are seeking a candidate with excellent writing skills, at least three years experience in broadcast or print journalism (public radio production a plus), and a flair for creating an engaging online and social media presence. This is primarily a writing position, responsible for the daily edition of the Fresh Air website (http://freshair.npr.org), and producing content for related social media sites (tumblr, Twitter and facebook). We need a person who can create an engaging and distinctive online personality, while also exercising great care to observe traditional journalism guidelines of accuracy, balance, and responsible presentation. An interest and familiarity with a wide range of news, social issues, arts and entertainment topics is essential. Must enjoy working in a teamwork oriented and deadline driven environment. Candidate should also have working familiarity with content management systems, Pro Tools, Photoshop and other digital media tools, and a demonstrated ability to write on deadline, write headlines and captions, and assimilate and organize large amounts of information quickly.
