Associate Director of Development
Plan, and execute targeted community fundraising events to achieve defined regional goals. Identify and cultivate donors and implement targeted solicitation strategies designed to increase the donor base and close gifts.
Assist the Director of Development in setting fundraising priorities and establishing financial goals.
Plan, organize and execute fundraising events such as The WALK Against Hate, corporate and professional luncheons and dinners, parlor meetings and special events. Assign responsibilities and monitor staff assistance and volunteers in preparation for, during and after the event.
Supervise staff intern activity as it relates to WALK Against Hate.
In consultation with the Director of Development, identify, cultivate, build and solidify relationships with new and established contributors. Analyze historic patterns of giving and assist in developing strategies to encourage new gifts and increase contributions. Work with the Director of Development and Regional Director to stimulate effective leadership participation in fundraising.
Directly solicit and close gifts from prospects and maintain relationships through-e- mail, phone or in-person contacts.
Observe programmatic events as time permits to define and enhance fundraising potential.
Cultivate and maintain community relationships and community outreach. Identify potential speakers and may establish a speaker’s bureau.
Work with Assistant Regional Director with respect to cultivations and solicitations for ADL’s young leadership group. Assist with the coordination of the annual event.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
Five to seven years community fundraising experience in a volunteer environment.
Experience in direct solicitation and closing gifts.
Event planning experience.
Good organizational and administrative skills including the ability to multi-task.
Proven ability to solicit and close gifts.
Excellent interpersonal skills and good oral and written presentation skills.
Self starter, team player, willingness to work additional hours as required to meet workload demands.
Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software. Basic understanding of and prior use with Kintera and/or Blackbaud software a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is necessary to represent ADL and attend community fundraising events.
