Reporting to the Director of Constituent Communications, the Associate Director helps to develop and execute a strategic communication plan to support Bryn Mawr’s Alumnae and Development offices’ outreach to and communications with their various audiences. The Associate Director will help to coordinate efforts with colleagues in those areas as well as with the Director of Communication, Production and Delivery and other areas of the College as appropriate.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Work with the College Communications team and representatives from Alumnae and Development to plan, develop, maintain and distribute, through both print and electronic means, content that reinforces institutional messages and strengthens alumna/i engagement and fundraising efforts.
-Develop partnerships with colleagues across the campus, seeking and sharing opportunities to advance departmental and institutional goals.
-Help maintain and adhere to complex communication schedules across several offices to assure timely, strategic, delivery of information to constituent groups.
-Positively represent the Communications Office as a resource for internal and external constituents to both receive information about Bryn Mawr and to put information into a context that meets their needs.
-Help to assess the value of communications through data mining, email tracking and response.
Job Requirements
Required skills:
-The ideal candidate for this position must have 3 to 5 years of experience in higher education fundraising and communications.
-Project Management
– ability to lead a project or initiative from concept to completion in collaboration with others in and out of the department.
-Significant experience in direct marketing for alumni or development offices- developing targeted, segmented, custom communication plans, in print and web, tracking campaign success.
-Significant experience working with vendors.
-Strong written and oral communication skills are essential to this position.
-Knowledge of Google Analytics, email marketing and segmenting, and variable data communication processes is a must.
-Facility with web-based communications – ability to update web pages and other online content, including Facebook and Twitter.
-Knowledge of Adobe CS5 a plus.
