Assistant Teacher for YoUth RAP Program
YoUth RAP, the Youth Urban Renewal Arts Program, is an after-school program dedicated the helping youth ages 9-14 at two schools in the North and Northeast sections of Philadelphia find their civic voice through artistic works. Through a series of lessons, activities, and trips students are introduced to how they can make changes to their neighborhood through local government and what their duties and rights as citizens are.
The Assistant teacher is responsible for the intake paper work for each child, taking role, daily reports of activities, and helping the children with their projects. The assistant will work with the lead teacher on lessons and activities when the other requirements are met.
Daily hours are 3-6, with occasional long days, trips, and meetings. This position is full time in the summer (40 Hours). Compensation can range from $10/hr to $15/hr based on credentials. This position does not offer benefits. Schedule flexibility is needed. Positive when working with children is a must. The children involved with the program are very energetic, creative, and in need of civic and artistic guidance.
