Assistant Regional Coordinator, Experience Corps

Experience Corps has a position opening for an Assistant Regional Coordinator for the 2004-2005 school year. Experience Corps is a volunteer program which engages the time, talent, and experience of older adults to provide service to communities and schools in order to help children become engaged readers. Retired adults serve as volunteer tutors for children in elementary schools across Philadelphia.
The Assistant Regional Coordinator supervises and manages teams of 5-12 older adult volunteer tutors in 3-4 schools.
Duties include:
-Serve as a liaison for school staff and the Experience Corps Program.
-Schedule and facilitate volunteer team meetings
-Monitor volunteer activities and report back to Regional Coordinator
-Maintain monthly volunteer logs
This is a part-time (20 hours/week) position. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 9am-2pm. A car is required as it involves regular travel to several school sites. People who have applied for this position in the past are invited to resubmit their resumes.
