Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill an Assistant Project Director, Gateway to College position. The Assistant Project Director, Gateway to College provides support to the Project Director in the management and coordination of supports and services to students in the Gateway to College program. This position has primary responsibility for managing all aspects of Achievement Lab (Gateway’s academic intervention component, to include credit recovery) and overseeing the provision of academic and social-emotional supports and services to Gateway students, with a focus on students particularly identified as requiring additional support. The Assistant Project Director will assume a leadership role alongside the Project Director in the implementation and monitoring of Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) and Student Assistance Team (SAT) processes and will serve as the testing coordinator for Gateway, overseeing the administration of SAT, ACT and Keystone state assessments. Working closely with the Project Director, School District of Philadelphia, the College’s Center of Disability, College faculty, Gateway’s special education consultant, Gateway staff, parents and other relevant College offices and departments, this position oversees and implements academic and social-emotional intervention and support programming, creates and monitors transition plans, and monitors compliance and full implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans. The Assistant Director supports the Project Director in the coordination of data and reporting to monitor and assess student achievement and program improvement.
This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Employment is based on the continuation of grant funding.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, School Counseling or related field required. Any and all degree(s) must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- PA State or National instructional certification in secondary years required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the Rt II and SAT process required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with writing and implementing IEPs/504s required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA guidelines required.
- Minimum of two years’ successful experience working with students in the direct delivery of academic and intervention services in a secondary educational setting required.
- Minimum of one year’s successful experience managing/actively engaging with student and program data at the school or central administration office level required.
- Knowledge of and experience with using student information management systems for K-12 schools required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds required.
- Exceptional organization and planning skills required.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel required
- PA State criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Special education certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with Easy IEP preferred.
- Knowledge of ADA guidelines strongly preferred.
- At least one year supporting special needs and/or over-aged/under-credited students preferred.
- Use of School District of Philadelphia’s student information management systems preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with meeting the complex needs of disadvantaged populations, specifically serving the off-track to graduation population preferred.
- Demonstrated experience/proficiency in effective program planning for high school students and knowledge of K-12 curriculum standards, Common Core Standards, curriculum development and implementation and dual enrollment programming preferred.
