Assistant Director, Undergraduate Career Services Office, Drexel University

The Assistant Director of the Deborah and Dominic Caruso Undergraduate Career Services Office will work with internal and external stakeholders to empower undergraduate business students to explore career interests, develop lifelong career management skills, and leverage experience-based education to evolve into world class business leaders.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5 years of career services advising experience or recruiting experience
– Baccalaureate Degree, preferably in business
– Familiarity with the LeBow College of Business programs and career options for undergraduate business majors
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
– Commitment to outstanding concern and service to customers (students, employers, faculty and staff)
– Able to work independently and take initiative in directing own work, as well as working efficiently and effectively with others
– Demonstrated excellence at planning and organizing own work and records, as well as coordinating with related parties and seeing task through to a timely and successful conclusion
– Ability to handle exceptions to processes and work assignments with professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness
– Demonstrable proficiency with PC’s and related software, experience with Banner and Hyperion preferred
– Professional work appearance and interactions with others.
Essential Functions:
– Provide career coaching to students engaged in the job search process. Coaching involves assisting students with resumes and cover letters, developing comprehensive job search strategies, aiding in improving interviewing skills, and helping to improve student understanding of target industries via applicable College resources
– Act as a primary instructor and co-facilitator in career courses and the introduction to college course; requiring the creation of in class exercises, presentations, and assessing student learning outcomes
– Provide curriculum oversight and guidance to career related courses, including a pilot course that cover topics including resume development, LinkedIn branding, time management and academics planning strategies
– Develop programs and initiatives to engage LeBow alumni in staying connected with the College. These programs include the organization and execution of networking events and career panel discussions
– Communicate with students, employers and faculty to market and execute Undergraduate Career Services programs
– Create resource materials and training guidelines for peer to peer career advisement in conjunction with the teaching assistant program run through the General Business Department
– Plan and facilitate company site visits by maintaining registration, planning logistics and travel, communicating with host companies, and utilizing College and University resources to market and promote visits to LeBow students
– Develop relationships with professional business organizations to provide networking opportunities for business students and generate potential job leads for full time and internship positions
– Create and compile online and print career resources for students regarding targeted job boards, career paths, and occupational outlooks for specific job titles and positions
– Enhance, nurture, and secure relationships with alumni and specific target companies to create job opportunities (both full time and co-op/internship)
– Plan and facilitate career services events in conjunction with other departments and student organizations; oversee the logistics for varied events in partnership with Drexel’s Event Services
– Work with Drexel University’s Steinbright Career Development Center to promote existing services aimed at students for the co-op and post-graduate employment
– Develop additional programs that may be helpful in improving student services student services
