Assistant Director, Rutgers Educational Opportunity Fund

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program is a state-supported student success program that provides New Jersey residents holistic support services including comprehensive academic, personal, and financial advising as well as financial assistance in the form of grants. Under the supervision of the EOF Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for administrative and programmatic support to the Educational Opportunity Fund Program on the Rutgers University–Camden campus. The incumbent develops and implements student academic success and retention initiatives; initiates collaborations with high schools and community agencies; develops leadership programming activities to promote student achievement; serves on University committees; and coordinates the EOF recruitment plan delivered in conjunction with the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Civic Engagement. This individual coordinates and monitors the EOF grant award and compliance processes. Further, the incumbent takes a lead role in managing the annual EOF Summer Institute program for new first-year students.
A strong candidate for the Assistant Director position will be a proven leader with significant experience serving underrepresented populations, developing and implementing student success initiatives, and possessing a deep knowledge of student development theory and best practices in academic advising/coaching. This individual will have demonstrated experience in program planning, cross-campus collaboration, recruitment initiatives, student advising/counseling, and assessment. In order to succeed in this role, this individual must be highly detail-oriented, creative, and demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and student success that supports EOF students, the EOF office, and the Rutgers University–Campus as a whole.
