Job description
Scope of position: The Assistant Director of Domestic Violence Services will be responsible for providing supervision for all aspects of counseling, programming, and case management services for the BDVP. The Assistant Director of DV Services will be supervised for the following responsibilities by the Director of the BDVP: Administrative areas, such as requests for vacations, time sheets, will continue to be handled by the Director of the BDVP.

Functions and Duties:

  • Ensure delivery of quality counseling services for all recipients of the BDVP through supervision of the Counseling Supervisor, Hotline Supervisor and Sheila Brown Advocates.
  • Provide oversight for the Sheila Brown Transitional Housing program.
  • Oversees, regulates, and monitors the Relocation and Sunshine Lady Funds. Including making recommendations on where/when to spend money, working with staff to complete appropriate paperwork, and tracking all paperwork for month-end reporting.
  • On a rotating basis, provide on-call weekend coverage for the Sheila Brown Program, once per month.
  • Provide educational trainings and workshops on a variety of topics related to domestic violence as needed.
  • Participate in/ensure quality provision of the counseling aspects of the 40-hour domestic violence training for volunteers.
  • Continue to provide direct services for two clients per week on average.
  • Connects and coordinates with the Residential Services Department of LSH to streamline the use of resources and housing opportunities across the organization.
  • Serve as alternate for the BDVP Director at PCADV board meetings.
  • Represent the program on external task forces and workgroups as needed.
  • Participates on relevant PCADV caucuses, networks, and committees.
  • Participate in BDVP staff meetings, counselor’s meetings, and clinical consultation meetings.
  • Prepare and complete timely reports for program grants.
  • Participate in program development activities.
  • Monitor the budgets for the Sheila Brown Program and the PDVH.
  • Other duties as assigned.
