US offers new round of IDA grants
The Assets for Independence Resource Center has announced a new round of grants supporting programs offering individual development accounts to low-income individuals and families.
The 2011 grant application deadlines are March 31st and May 25th.
The AFI program provides funding to provide Individual Development Accounts and related supportive services for qualified individuals in their area. Each participant opens an account and receives matched funding from the federal government and from matching funds raised by the applicant.
The funds can be used for furthering education, purchasing a home, or starting a business.
A series of webinars have been scheduled to help potential grantees better understand the grant opportunity.
