Job Announcement
Job Title: Asset Building Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Responsibilities:
Work with the Executive Director to ensure the efficient operation of Ceiba’s Asset Building activities.
Including but not limited to the following:
 Coordinate all of Ceiba’s Housing Counseling activities including but not limited to:
? Ensuring that Ceiba meets the service delivery obligations under the OHCD contract
? Spearhead the efforts to create and adopt quality standards & best practices for Ceiba’s Housing Counseling program
 Help Ceiba carry out its coordinating activities with the Campaign for Working Families (CWF) in the Latino community including the organizing of mobile free income tax preparation sessions at each of the four Ceiba housing counseling sites
 Coordinate Ceiba’s Fair Housing activities
 Coordinate Ceiba’s IDA activities
 Write narrative reports for internal and external distribution about Ceiba’s Asset Building activities.
 Help manage, recruit, and retain staff and volunteers working on Ceiba’s Asset Building activities.
 Assist Executive Director in the evaluation of staff and programs.
 Keep up to date on public policy matters relating to Asset Building, Community Development, Affordable Housing, Coalition Building, Latino Affairs, Civil Rights, and other issues relevant to the work of Ceiba.
 Be a resource person to staff and volunteers.
 Maximize the efficient use of the equipment and physical plant of the organization.
 Ensure Ceiba’s compliance with contracts, commitments, grant goals, and service to the community.
 Represent Ceiba at meetings, conferences, presentations, and other activities.
 Provide support for Ceiba’s advocacy activities.
 Assist the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to develop fundraising leads and write proposals.
 Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
 Experience with the operations of a community-based organization or its equivalent.
 Strong writing skills.
 The ability to recruit, motivate, and retain staff and volunteers.
 The ability to build relationships with community people, leaders of community based organizations, and officials at the federal, state, and local level.
 Good negotiating skills and conflict resolution skills.
 Bilingual / bicultural preferred (Spanish / Latino Community)
 The ability to manage various program budgets and diverse funding sources.
 Commitment to the Latino community and knowledge of the dynamics of the City of Philadelphia.
 The ability to work on a number of simultaneous projects and to meet their deadlines.
 An understanding of Asset Building, Community Development, Affordable Housing, Coalition Building, Latino Affairs, Civil Rights and other issues relevant to the work of Ceiba.
 The ability to work with members of the non-profit and legal community of the City.
 Experience with advocacy and community organizing.
 Availability to work a flexible schedule.
 Certification as a Housing Counselor or equivalent real estate and mortgage processing experience.
Salary Range: $30,000 to $40,000 per year.
