Assessment Institute
Posted by Indiana University on September 8, 2015
Registration is open for the Assessment Institute held annually in Indianapolis (Oct. 25-27th).
This year we encourage you to register for our pre-conference sessions as well! Join my colleagues and I for the following sessions:
Assessing Student Civic and Global Learning – Eric Hartman,Richard Kiely, Ben Lough, and Kristin Norris
Building Institutional Capacity to Monitor and Assess Community-Engaged Activities – Jennifer Domagal-Goldman, Kristin Medlin, Kristin Norris, and Mary Price
There are several great tracks this year including ones on Community Engagement and High Impact Practices. Ken O’Donnell and Audrey Hovannesian will serve as the keynotes for the HIP track and will be talking about their work within the California State system assessing student learning. You won’t want to miss it!
Early Bird ends Sept. 14th!
Now the oldest and largest assessment conference in the country, the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis will be held again at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown October 25-27, 2015, and I would like to invite you and your colleagues to attend. Tracks on assessment in high-impact practices, global learning, faculty development, graduate education, the use of electronic portfolios, student affairs programs and services, and the work of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) will be highlights of our program.
In addition to the track presentations we will continue our tradition of offering interactive sessions on assessment in general education and major fields, as well as assessment as it is used in meeting accreditation requirements. On Sunday, October 25, we plan a variety of half-day and full-day pre-Institute workshops for those interested in studying a particular topic in even more depth.
In 2014 the Institute attracted more than 1000 participants from 48 U.S. states and 10 other countries—over 420 colleges, universities, and organizations were represented. Annual evaluations indicate that it is a valuable resource for faculty and administrators in all disciplines and for student affairs professionals. If you would like additional information, please consult our Web site http://www.assessmentinstitute.iupui.edu/, call our office at 317-274-4111, or contact us by email: [email protected] or Karen Black ([email protected]). I hope you will encourage your colleagues to join us for this event.
