ASAP to Release Annual After School Directory
On September 12, ASAP’s annual After School Directory will be made available to thousands of Philadelphians as a supplement to the Philadelphia Daily News.
The Directory, which is organized by zip code, is larger than ever this year, with contact information for more than 800 after school sites and thousands of program listings. The Directory is one of the many ways that ASAP works to keep Philadelphia’s youth involved after school.
New School Superintendent Dr. William Hite Jr. loved last year’s Directory and is looking forward to reading the newest edition!
The Directory provides parents, caregivers, and youth workers with information about after school enrichment programs across the city. Studies show that after school programs can provide academic and social benefits for youth, and that these programs can play a vital role in keeping students engaged and out of trouble. In addition to highlighting ASAP chess, Scrabble, debate and drama clubs, the Directory helps youth find new opportunities citywide.
If you know of an after school program located in Philadelphia and not listed in the Directory, please contact info@phillyasap.org or call 215-545-2727 x12. ASAP updates the Directory online monthly at http://www.phillyasap.org.
