Arts for Children seeks lead agency
On September 2nd, the Arts for Children and Youth Steering Committee will release a request for proposals. The goal of the RFP is to identify a leadership entity to manage the Arts for Children and Youth Initiative.
Arts for Children and Youth is a community-wide endeavor to better support and coordinate current efforts to increase equity, access, quality, and diversity of arts offerings, during the school day and after-school, for children and youth, families, and communities in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Since the initial Arts for Youth community meeting in March 2008, this effort has been driven by a group of approximately 70 community members, who have worked in committees to develop the RFP, which will identify a leadership entity to manage the Arts for Youth initiative going forward.
Currently, Arts for Youth committees include representatives from arts and culture organizations, parents, educators, artists, after school providers, school district representatives, city policy makers, community-based organizations, higher education representatives, business people, philanthropists, and foundations.
