Teen Actors! Night of ONE-ACTS!
3 sessions
May 16, 23, 30
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Ages 14-7
This workshop is designed to cast actors and rehearse to perform during the night of ONE-ACTS on May 30. Actors will create character bios for the roles they will be playing. Done in the repertoire style, one actor will have multiple roles. Playwrights and guest directors will help hone these works to performance readiness. There will be one pizza pie per 6 students at each session. Taught by The Wire actress and playwright – Tanesha Ford.
Identity to Independence
For Philadelphia Students ages 11-13

Are you who you dream to be? Do your dreams guide your days? Let’s awaken the reality of your possibilities by honoring your Identity! You are your dreams – So Let’s make them fly! Exploring that expression with poetry, sonnets we will journal our way to our independence. Together we will use free writing, poetry, and sonnets as a form of that expression. Workshop participants will engage in creative writing prompts and utilize free writing, poetry & sonnets as a form of expression.
Arthouse Films Workshop
For Philadelphia Students 13-15
Sundays, 1:00 – 3:00 PM
April 30, May 7, 14, 21, 28
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street
In this Workshop, we will be entering the world of art by the way of film. We will be watching a mixture of documentary and feature films centered around world-renowned artists like Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Joan Mitchell, Jackson Pollock, Gordon Parks, Marina Abramovic, Frida Kahlo and more. In addition to watching and discussing these artists and films, we also writing our own critiques. The Workshop will include a trip to PAFA to visit art in person.
