Funding Opportunity for Job Trainers
Mayor Michael A. Nutter and the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board (PWIB) held a news conference yesterday to announce a second request for proposals (RFP) for Recovery funds slated for workforce development. The Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation (PWDC) has released a new request for proposals (RFP) to award Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult and Dislocated Worker funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The RFP is to procure occupational, education and training, and job placement and retention programs targeting unemployed adults (age 18 years and older).
Preference will be given to skills training programs with strong employer involvement and those conferring college credit or an industry-recognized certificate that articulates to college credit.
A notice of intent to bid is requested by November 4, with the proposals due by Nov. 23 at noon.
