Applications open for the Climate Resilience Youth Council – Oct 17
Posted by PHENND on September 23, 2025
Applications are open for the Climate Resilience Youth Council!
What is it? The Climate Resilience Youth Council will consist of 15-18 high school students from across Philadelphia. Together, members will learn about local climate change impacts, connect with other students and organizations making a difference, break down barriers to governmental participation, and create climate resilience solutions for their communities. We believe that young residents must have a voice in how our city responds to the impacts of climate change, and that they can develop the necessary skills to become champions of adaptation in their communities.
Highlights
- Paid participation in climate literacy and civic education trainings
- Opportunity to shape the City of Philadelphia’s Climate Resilience Plan
- Funding for community-based climate resilience projects
What is the commitment? Virtual meetings 1-2x per month on Wednesday evenings, with occasional in-person meet-ups on Saturdays. The Council will run from November to June, with an in-person kick off on November 8th.
Who is eligible to apply? Any high school student who is also a Philadelphia resident. Applicants can be attending a school outside of Philadelphia as long as they are a city resident.
How can I apply? Apply with a written or video application using this form. Applications are due October 17th.
The climate isn’t the only thing making change. Join the Climate Resilience Youth Council!
