Applications Open for Movies on the Block: Info Session – Apr 9
Posted by Philadelphia Film Society on April 7, 2026
The Philadelphia Film Society’s longest-lasting, community-rooted program Movies on the Block is a free outdoor screening series that brings film to neighborhoods that lack access to traditional theaters. Every summer, PFS works with local organizations to directly engage diverse audiences and bring films chosen by the community into meaningful neighborhood spaces.
The Philadelphia Film Society is looking to bring movie events to underserved communities in areas that do not have movie theaters. Organizations are invited to submit a proposal to host a movie night in collaboration with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation at a city recreation center OR at another outdoor venue.
All proposals should be for a FREE community event and movie screening that incorporates other community organizations and groups. Events will take place between June and August. Ideal proposals will lay out the proposed location for the event, suggested movie, and an overview of activities taking place prior to the screening.
Virtual Required Information Session: April 9, 6:00 PM
If you have any questions about Movies on the Block, how to attend the virtual info session, or are interested in hosting a program, please contact community@filmadelphia.org.
Applications close April 14.
